De-risking the Doors and Ironmongery Elements of Projects

Part II

Working with suppliers can be frustrating, especially when their service can cause issues for you and compromise your customer’s experience. Many suppliers do not take into the account that it’s not them who get the blame when a project is delayed, but the people the customer is working with directly: which is you.

We’ve heard many horror stories over the years and used them to inform the support we offer, and they helped a lot of our customers avoid headaches that come with other suppliers.

Ordering and On-Site

Stage 3: Order execution & production
From the point of order we help to keep everything on track, providing an order acknowledgement within 24 hours and a production schedule for bespoke doors, while we track and measure the process so we can address any issues that may come up as soon as possible.

Stage 4: Monitoring & delivery
To help with build efficiency we provide detailed product schedules to ensure delivery when and where it is needed, and our tailored packaging service has products delivered by plot or apartment number so installers have everything to start work immediately.

Stage 5: Measurement & review
Once your order is delivered its time to measure our performance, gain feedback and continue to support you with any questions - and your account manager will be on hand to support you and discuss future projects.

What risks can be reduced?

  • Delays and/or damage to goods
  • Uncoordinated deliveries
  • Project delay penalties
  • Inflation squeezing margins
  • Unproductive downtime for installers
  • Poor installation
  • Inefficient or unclear accounts

When the project reaches the construction stage, the contractors need to be sure that the items will be there on time, instructions will be thorough and accurate, and that doors and ironmongery will match the designs making them straightforward to install.

Some services we provide are detailed production drawings and schedules to make sure everyone knows exactly what they are working with; flexible invoicing to stop unexpected changes incurring extra costs as best we can; and follow-up site visits so we can make sure the final product is up to standard. We also provide a single point of contact for your project to make sure information is seen and acted on as soon as possible.

We know that a major disruptor for projects are unexpected changes, so we focus on services that offer flexibility. As we ll as holding stock of ironmongery, we can provide storage solutions, offer advanced ordering to mitigate cost changes, and planned pack-by-plot and crated door deliveries as more separate items means more chances for logistics and transport issues to create costly delays.
