De-risking the Doors and Ironmongery Elements of Projects

Part I

Working with suppliers can be frustrating, especially when their service can cause issues for you and compromise your customer’s experience. Many suppliers do not take into the account that it’s not them who get the blame when a project is delayed, but the people the customer is working with directly: which is you.

We’ve heard many horror stories over the years and used them to inform the support we offer, and they helped a lot of our customers avoid headaches that come with other suppliers.

Part 1: The Early Project Journey
Choosing and Designing

Denleigh Project Management Cycle Image 1
Stage 1: Initiation & Selection
At this stage our team of experienced door & ironmongery specialists take time to understand your project goals and boundaries. We ‘ll ask you about the challenges of your project and what you are looking to achieve before recommending solutions.

Stage 2: Planning & Refinement
Once we have established the basic requirements of the project, preferred products, quantities, and timelines, we will work closely with you to refine the product specification and finer details.

What risks can be reduced?

  • The design not matching client’s needs or desires
  • Wrong specification leading to costly replacements
  • Delays on project
  • Door and ironmongery products not compatible and/or not meeting regulations

At these stages of the project, making sure that specifications are correct is a high priority. Architects and interior designers know that there are requirements beyond aesthetics, and a good supplier will help them balance compliance with the client’s desired look and feel.

For example, we’ve helped many architects and designers with specifications, product design services, design consultations, and the customization of door design and ironmongery matching.

Some of our services that support architects, interior designers, and hands-on property developers include design consultations, mood boards to show real-world combinations (rather than CGIs or waiting until they are on-site); product design services to produce bespoke products; various guides and webinars to help balance aesthetics with regulations; and many case studies and references to assess the quality of the finished project.

These ensure that property developers, surveyors, site managers, and many other stakeholders can be sure that the items they are using comply with required regulations and keep the property safe and efficient for the eventual occupiers.
